Product Overview

The stainless steel hex nut is the most common type of fastener used with bolts and screws to create a secure, removable joint. DonMo Hardware manufactures hex nuts in both SS304 (A2) for general-purpose corrosion resistance and SS316 (A4) for marine, coastal and chemical environments.

Our nut product line includes standard hex nuts (DIN934 / ISO4032), nylon insert lock nuts (DIN985) that resist loosening from vibration, and flange nuts (DIN6923) with an integrated washer face for increased bearing surface. We also produce thin nuts, heavy hex nuts, wing nuts and cap nuts on request.

Q: Nylon insert lock nut vs all-metal lock nut — which should I choose?

A: Nylon insert lock nuts (Nyloc) use a polymer collar creating friction locking, effective up to ~120°C. All-metal lock nuts use a deformed metal section for locking, withstand higher temperatures (up to 300°C+) and are more durable in harsh environments. We offer both types — let us know your temperature range for a recommendation.

Q: Can I mix stainless steel nuts with carbon steel bolts?

A: Technically possible, but not recommended for long-term outdoor use. Dissimilar metals with moisture can cause galvanic corrosion. For best results, match bolt and nut material, or use a plastic washer to isolate. Indoor dry applications are generally fine with mixed materials.
