Product Overview

Machine screws are threaded fasteners designed to be screwed into a pre-tapped hole or used with a nut. They are typically smaller in diameter than bolts and feature a precision-formed head for driving with a screwdriver or hex key. DonMo Hardware manufactures a comprehensive range of stainless steel machine screws in SS304 (A2) and SS316 (A4) grades.

Our machine screw line covers all common head types including pan head (DIN7985 / ISO7045), countersunk / flat head (DIN965 / ISO7046), button head (DIN7984), truss head and hex socket cap screw (DIN912 / ISO4762). Drive types include Phillips (PH), Pozidriv (PZ), slotted, hex socket (Allen) and Torx (TX).

Machine screws are widely used in electronics, electrical equipment, machinery assembly, furniture, automotive, appliances and precision instruments where a clean, low-profile fastening solution is required.

How to Choose the Right Head Type

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between a machine screw and a bolt?
A: Machine screws are generally smaller (typically M2–M12) and designed to be screwed into a pre-tapped hole or used with a nut. They have a precision-formed head for screwdriver or hex key drive. Bolts are typically larger (M5+) and designed to be used with a nut, with an external hex head driven by a wrench. However, the distinction is not always strict — some larger machine screws (like M8/M10 hex socket cap screws) are sometimes called bolts.
Q: Phillips vs Pozidriv drive — what is the difference?
A: Phillips (PH) and Pozidriv (PZ) look similar but are not fully interchangeable. Pozidriv has additional small radial lines between the main cross arms and is designed to reduce cam-out (the screwdriver slipping out under high torque). A Pozidriv screwdriver can drive both Phillips and Pozidriv screws, but a Phillips screwdriver may slip or damage a Pozidriv head. For production assembly, we recommend using the matching drive type. We can supply both PH and PZ drive types — please specify when ordering.
Q: Can you produce machine screws with custom head markings or part numbers?
A: Yes. We can stamp or laser-engrave part numbers, grade markings or your company logo on screw heads for OEM and private-label orders (MOQ applies). Custom packaging with your branding is also available, including labeled bags, printed cartons and blister packs with your product information.
Q: Do you provide screws and matching nuts as kits?
A: Yes. We can supply machine screws with matching nuts (hex nuts, lock nuts) and washers as complete kits, packaged together per your specification. This is popular for electronics assembly, furniture kits and project-based orders. We can also provide kitting services where multiple screw sizes are packed together in labeled compartments.
